It's been a While!

SITE UPDATE: The new website is great and all, but it takes a lot of time and effort to keep a site up and running. Despite multiple attempts, TheMadHacker.Net remains an open platform for the freedom of information that the masses need and love. Among the numerous attacks on themadhacker.net, not one was able to silence the site for much longer than a couple of hours. As of right now, themadhacker.net is experiencing a change of hosts and will be back online as soon as the DNS records propogate.

In the meantime,

TheMadHacker.Net recently became aware of a growing college student population that happens to be utterly broke. Textbooks are enough of a strain on the wallet (and the back) as it is currently, and TheMadHacker would like to change that.

Requests are currently being accepted for [direct] links to downloadable textbook .pdf's for any textbook in any subject.

So, if you aren't having any luck on the "PDF Search" sites or RapidShare, post a comment here with either the ISBN or the Title, Author, and Edition and expect a reply within 48 hours.

IP BLOCKING AND P2P SAFETY

SO...it's about time that TheMadHacker posted a little something about safety on peer to peer (p2p) networks. All things considered, any person with any knowledge of the different networks knows that Gnutella has GONE TO SHIT. It is primarily viruses/trojans, and the other half is the R1AA trying to sue a bunch of college kids. But that's ok, becuase Gnutella sucks anyways. Gnutella, for those who do not know, is what the Limewire and Frostwire platforms work on. Bittorrent, however, is where it's at. I suggest uTorrent, or a really cool program named Shareaza that supports multiple networks. Shareaza.com, though, was taken over by stupid DRM french douchebags, so....there's:

and as far as IP blocking goes, i've got to run. Ill write more soon!

Windows Server 2008 R2 and Activation

INDEED, windows server 2008 was good. But Server 2008 R2 blows the Vista version out of the water. All things considered, Vista got a bad rap due to all kind of BS, like UAC and such, but R2 has the new Windows 7 kernel with a few extras added. It took an act of congress, however, for me to find a good activation hack for said operating system. Eventually I did, and I found it by searching through every single Windows 7 activation tool I could find on various sites and bit-torrent. All of these activation tools were scanned by several antiviruses, and a few actually did test positive. However, none were really harmful applications, it never hurts to be too safe. Finally I found the one that works, and the only working one to this day that i could find. Keep in mind also that Windows has released an anti-piracy update, named KB971033 that should not be downloaded or ran under any circumstance; however, the victims of WGA in windows xp regret installing that, this anti-counterfeit system is not as brutal or intrusive as windows xp's windows genuine advantage. Its called REMOVE WAT and the latest version as of today is 2.2.

Server 2008 Update

Well, the method that i mentioned earlier does indeed work for activation, but unfourtunately, the 'tokens.dat' method disables the important features in Windows Server 2008.

So, through intensive searching, a new method has been discovered. I have tried this myself, and it IS working for both SP1 and SP2. I'll elaborate on SP2 later on. I have uploaded these files to my file sharing account. I previously used a sharing service named ziddu, but their ads contain nothing but browser exploits. So, i changed hosts to a service called SlingFile. Good stuff.

Method #1

This method works flawlessly on Windows server 2008 service pack 1. Not only does it bypass the WPA, but it also patches the file that puts a WGA watermark on your desktop. Note that this is version 1.1, version 1 does not include the WGA gui patcher.

A NOTE ABOUT SP2:
I got a BSOD when i installed windows server sp2 and then reapplied this patch. There is a method, which uses a tool known as TimerNuke.

TimerNuke can be found here:

TimerNuke Download

Keep in mind that since Method #1 allows for windows server updates, while the tokens.dat made the machine seen by windows update as vista ultimate. Therefore, after using method #1, you will recieve all updates for windows server 2008.

Service pack 2 will be listed as an update that can be installed. The user then faces two choices:
a) Keep the 'activated' version of SP1
or
b) Get the newest service pack, chick-full of security updates and such.

If you do decide to install SP2, make sure to follow the following instructions:

1. Open 'Services' in the administrative tools, and make sure the SLUI service is disabled. If this remains enabled when applying either of the tools, you will get a BSOD at every startup.
2. Run TimerNuke
3. Run Method #1

Restart.

Now, if everything goes good, you now have a Windows Server 2008 machine running SP2 that is fully updatable and does not need activation.

Shoutouts to MyDigitalLife. This in one of the best sites on the net. Kudos, guys.

Server 2008 Verdict, Prom, and IE 64-bit

SO here's the final verdict for windows server 2008: awesome. After using the activation tools previously listed, however, installing features will not work. There appears to be some problem with the compatibility of servermanager.msc and mmc.exe after activation via replacing the tokens.dat file in the system folder. SO keep in mid, if you're going to utilize all of the features in Windows Server 2008 [I prefer server enterprise, but whatever], you need to install those features before using the activation tool.

The somalian prom sucked by the way.

Also, i learned some information about the 64 bit version of internet explorer: many plugins that work with the 32-bit program cannot function at all on the 64-bit application. Keep this in mind if or when you make the switch to 64-bit computers.

What in the hell.

I currently installed windows server 2008 enterprise on a friend's laptop. Wow. This is easily the most secure and fastest operating system that I have ever used. Torrent the file and/or download it from Microsoft at:

Windows Server 2008: Microsoft Direct Download

Holy crap. I just created the coolest computer in all of, er, somalia.

In order to activate it, either pay for it [advised, yet unlikely], or try it by unlocking all of the locked features by using this tool:

Windows Server 2008 ALL EDITIONS activation tool {Does NOT work. Link removed. See update in more recent post.}

Note that your antivirus might detect thios link as a trojan. I assure you, it isn't.

If you want yet another tool that is proven to work, and not detected as a trojan, try this...but unlocking is a little bit more complicated.

Windows Server 2008 Activator [read the .nfo!]

O yea, and prom [in somalia] is super stupid. Screw prom and all of the stupid little frills. I mean, really? No smoke breaks during the dance?? What in the the hell.

Note also that because of the ***super awesome****** nature of windows server, old drivers will not work. 99% of the time, updated drivers are provided by the OEM.

Free File Hosting Sites Suck

I have yet to find one that it outstanding, but i'm still searching. If anyone knows of one that i can link directly to a file, that would be kickass. I really don't want to host files on my server at home (in somalia of course) in fear that some asshole would 'have a little fun' and take down the offiial ScHiSm server. Any help would be really awesome.

New Hosting Server

I've added a few hosting servers to hold my files, so stay tuned for links and such to download. I'm also looking for a webhost that is not hosted anywhere near home (which of course, is Somalia...since they have internet in Somalia).
